Protesters Set Fire To KFC & Hardees In Tripoli (PHOTOS)

Russia Today

Another 300 protesters marched a half-kilometer down the road and attacked an American fast-food chain, setting the building on fire. The restaurant’s employees were evacuated.

Following the torching of the American restaurant, the Tripoli protesters regrouped and attempted to storm the Prime Minister’s headquarters at the Grand Serail. Witnesses in the area claimed they heard gunshots.

Lebanese officials confirmed that one person was killed and 25 were wounded in clashes between protesters and security forces, which then cordoned off the area to block the demonstrators’ advance. Twelve members of the security forces were wounded by stones thrown by protesters, Reuters reports.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. The US has been f-ing with all countries around the world and people have had enough. It's not about some movie -- a movie that only has a trailer -- there is no movie! It's about bombs dropping on supposed terrorists but wedding party guests and funerals seem to be the ones that always get targetted.

Wow. I know these people are mad at America, but doesn't someone in Tripoli own these franchises? By burning down these two establishments, they probably did more to hurt the people that run and own these establishments. What a shame they couldn't think of something else to do. If this is in retaliation for the Israeli film that wasn't released, as hard as it may be, they should just ignore it. What I mean is that by getting angry, they are validating ONE person's opinion (the filmmaker) and giving him credibility by retaliating. If you ignore the situation, you do not give that person credibility and invalidate anything they say or do.

Geez that will show the US a thing or two, burn down locally owned franchises to the detriment of the local employees and owners, way to raise the bar Mohammedans.

It's all about the message.

These people strap bombs to kids or drive vehicles loaded with explosives into crowds to deliver their insanity. Somebody's business and a few jobs is just another way to send the message.

If anything it's less insane then their usual methods.

How did you know about that? Thanks for the kind words, but it wasn't heroic. I was just trying to help find the guy, and I was already in a bathing suit so it only took me 2 seconds to jump in. The problem was that the water was murky and it was impossible to see anything. The divers found the victim in exactly the spot where he fell in off the dock, even though that area had been searched multiple times. It was incredibly tragic. And the victim's best friend was later charged with involuntary manslaughter, even though they were all just horsing around.

KFC & Subway are both my favorite restaurants. In KFC wings & In Subway, cookies, and salads are my favorite food items. Recently I won the cookies for free at subway by participating in the global subway survey at https://www.globalsubwaylistens.com/.
